Increases cancer risk doubled among women from poor families who had sex at a very young age. According to a recent study published in the British Journal of Cancer.
Differences incidence of cervical cancer in women of low economic and rich in various parts of the world have long known to the experts, but the exact cause of this phenomenon became known only through the current research.
In addition to the age of first sex, the age of a woman giving birth for the first time also affect the risk of cervical cancer. Unfortunately the researchers did not include factor of number of sexual partners and smoking habits.
Chairman of the study, Dr Silvia Franceschi says his research not only focused on adolescent girls only, but the risk of cervical cancer was also seen in women who first had sex at the age of 20 years compared to 25 years.
"In our study, poor women are generally more sexually active sooner so that they are infected with HPV are also vulnerable more quickly. The virus itself takes a long time to develop into cancer," he said.
Although a woman can be infected with HPV at any age, an infection that occurs in very young age is more dangerous because the virus had time enough to develop into cancer. Therefore, the experts reminded the importance of HPV vaccination to be given to pre-adolescent children before they become sexually active.

Good information. Cervical cancer is a non-malignant irregularity of cells on the surface of the cervix. Normally, symptoms are seen only after the irregular cervical cells turn malignant and attack tissues in its close proximity.
